Charity giving back competition returns

Fortitude Communications’ competition offering charities the opportunity to receive professional support to help raise their profile is back.

The winning charities will be provided with expert support to help them engage their audiences online. Fortitude’s team of specialists will produce a video for the winner of the competition, a corporate photoshoot to the runner-up and a press release for the third placed charity.

Fortitude launched the competition last year to help charities bounce back from the pandemic and following its success the team decided to repeat it this year. To enter a charity must be registered in Oxfordshire or be delivering positive social impact in the county.

Communications support

Greig Box Turnbull, founder of Fortitude Communications, said: The impact the work we delivered for charities last year was so powerful we decided to make the competition an annual fixture.

It is a fantastic opportunity for charities to receive professional communications support that will help make a positive difference to their cause. Being an active part of our community and giving back where we can is a big part of the culture at Fortitude and we’re looking forward to supporting more charities via this project.”

Thom Airs, head videographer and licensed drone operator at Fortitude Communications added: Video, photography and news items all significantly help increase brand awareness and audience engagement. We have seen first-hand the value the video we produced for Be Free Young Carers has had for the charity and look forward to helping more charities this year.”

Boosting engagement

Communications helps charities increase awareness, engage with audiences, support awareness and fundraising campaigns and help deliver more positive social impact. Video and photography are both excellent ways to engage with your audience online in a more meaningful way and can make a real difference to your cause.

Charity Competition

The team at Fortitude will consider the entries and select the winning charities. The winner will have a video produced by Thom Airs, a photo shoot conducted by Shaun Reynolds and a press release produced by Miranda Chambers. Fortitude will cover the time, expertise and equipment required to produce the video and photographs. The team will hold a workshop with the winning charities to understand their culture and target audience to ensure the messaging and final output is effective.

Making a difference

Last year Be Free Young Carers scooped first prize and had a two-minute video produced of its annual fun day which has helped the charity promote the impact of its work to supporters.

Sabiene North, CEO of Be Free Young Carers said: The video has made a huge difference to how we engage our supporters. We have regularly shared it with potential funders who have been amazed by the stories perfectly captured in the film.”

Assisted Reading for Children received a photoshoot and Against Breast Cancer the press release production and outreach. Read more here.
