The Oxford based PR and Communications agency will provide the National League South football club with corporate and board-level communications support and advice.
With ambitions to gain promotion to the National League and ultimately become a full-time football club, City has partnered with Fortitude to help develop its high-level communications. Delivery will focus on helping increase value for sponsors by communicating their partnerships and associated activity across the season. Fortitude will also provide board-level strategic communications and reputation management support.
Based on Oxford Business Park, Fortitude provides communications, PR, content, social media management, copy writing, media training, video production and drone services. It has clients across a range of sectors including sport and professional services. It was founded by former Daily Mirror journalist and Oxford United Managing Director Greig Box Turnbull.
Adding value
Justin Merritt, Oxford City FC director said: “This is an important partnership in our on-going strategy to become more professional in all areas of the club. Strategic communications and PR are integral to delivering clear messaging, adding value to our partners and improving our brand awareness and reputation.
“Fortitude has a first-class reputation in this field and has provided invaluable advice and support to the club in recent years, so we’re delighted to formalise the partnership.”
Strategic Communications
Caroline O’Connor, Partnership Manager at Oxford City FC added: “Like the football club Fortitude has strong community values and the partnership is based on shared passions and ambition. The team at Fortitude believes in what we are building at City and the partnership will help us strengthen our strategic communications and PR.”
Greig Box Turnbull, Fortitude Communications director said: “We’ve been helping City with board level communications advice for some time and so we’re pleased to have been appointed as official partners. It is a natural progression and our team is looking forward to working with the club this season and delivering first-class communications output that helps further enhance its brand.”
