Be Free Young Carers charity video
Fortitude produced an overview video for Be Free Young Carers. The charity offers support dedicated to improving the lives and well-being of young carers in south Oxfordshire.
It wanted a video to help demonstrate its impact to communicate what it does to supporter and funders. We worked with the charity to understand its objectives and created a storyboard prior to filming. Our videographer Thom Airs visited a Family Fun Day and filmed the activities, captured individual stories and conducted interviews.
A timeless two-minute video was produced which the charity has broadcast on its website and social media channels. It has also shared it directly with its key stakeholders and intends to use it at presentations in the future.
“From conception to delivery, the service we received from Fortitude was exceptional. Our first meeting was to discuss our needs and what we hoped to achieve from the video, the whole process was client centric and using their expertise, they were able to provide us with a first-class impact video. Thom was incredibly down to earth and captured everything we could possibly wish for within the video. No shots were forced or setup, everything happened naturally which put everyone at ease in front of the camera and made for a great result.”
Sabine North, fundraising and events coordinator at Be Free Young Carers.
Oxford United in the Community’s National Citizen Service recruitment video
Fortitude produced two attention grabbing videos for the charity’s National Citizen Service summer programme.
The first video was a recruitment video that was broadcast at school assemblies. The second video captured the impact of the programme. Our team worked with Oxford United in the Community to define the purpose of the video and how to engage its hard-to-reach target audience. We then held a workshop to generate creative ideas and produced the storyboard ahead of filming and production.
“The special touches & techniques Fortitude added to the video & the advice they gave us on how to behave and communicate was invaluable. It made a massive difference to the final outcome. The planning process Fortitude guided us through was extensive and thorough. It ensured my colleagues, and I were fully aware of what to expect on the day of filming.
“On average, we’d expect to attract 100 to 150 views for each video we post online. We surpassed 1,500 views within days and that was just on YouTube. A key factor is because it stands out. But also, we identified and implemented the correct tone, so it appeals to the younger generation. Fortitude advised us our target audience identify better with visuals with a modern, vibrant look. The video generated huge interest and made a big difference to our recruitment. It really accelerated the rate of sign-ups.”
Aled Newton, NCS Programme Manager at Oxford United in the Community.
“Our reward over investment on the video has been phenomenal. It has helped us secure a strong number of recruits in record time.
“Everyone who has watched the video has been mesmerised. The EFL Trust who oversee the NCS programmes at all the football club charities in the UK said it was one of the best recruitment videos they have seen. We are delighted with the video and the response it has achieved.”
Chris Lowes, Head of Oxford United in the Community

TicketCo wanted a video that showed how the technology enabled its client to process more than 20,000 event goers in a short time window to enter the event — and for the film to capture the atmosphere of the event.
Our videographer filmed the content in challenging conditions and produced the final edit on a tight turn around for TicketCo. The client loved the video and has used it strongly on social media and in its business development outreach.
“We were in the market for a video production company to design, capture and deliver a unique story. We wanted someone with local knowledge in Oxfordshire and able to capture the beautiful backdrop of the city overseeing the event.
