Fortitude Communications supporting Oxford Children’s Hospital

The team at Fortitude Communications is taking part in the Oxford Mail OX5 Run, in support of Oxford Children’s Hospital.

We are running the five-mile virtual event on March 28th in support of local children in hospital. The event which traditionally takes place at Blenheim Palace is virtual this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The OX5 Run helps raises awareness and funds for the Oxford Hospitals Charity. All funds raised will help Oxford Children’s Hospital, critical care areas and the Children’s ward at the Horton General.

Oxford Hospitals Charity transforms local hospitals, creating warm and welcoming environments for patients, with the latest specialist medical equipment. The charity also funds research and improvements for hospital staff, including specialist training.

The OX5 Run has taken place every year since 2002, raising more than £1 million for Oxford Hospitals Charity.

Gail Williams, of Oxford Hospitals Charity, said: This event is usually our biggest fundraiser of the year for the Children’s Hospital and with the support of our local community we really hope can still raise as much as possible to make a difference to the thousands of children looked after by our hospital teams.”

Community

Greig Box Turnbull, Shaun Reynolds and Thom Airs are running in the Fortitude team.

This is the first time Fortitude has entered a team into a charity run and we’re all looking forward to raising funds for local children in hospital,” said Greig. We discussed how we could do things as a team during lockdown and help others in our community and the OX5 Run really appealed to us.

We have seen via some of our clients’ social impact projects at Oxford Children’s Hospital just how important the service is and what a huge difference the team makes to so many. So, we decided to push ourselves and take part in the OX5 Run and hope it will help make a small difference.

We are all passionate about our community and it’s so important we pull together to help where we can, especially currently. We are looking forward to it, it will certainly be a challenge for us, but it’s worth it.”
